Climate controlled
Humidity held around 50–60% in a sealed, insulated building. The standard for anything with original paint, chrome or leather.

Book by late August. Demand for professional car storage spikes every September as owners take classics off the road, and the best climate controlled facilities fill their bays quickly. Leaving it until October often means a waiting list or settling for a second-choice facility.
Can I keep a SORNed car in a professional storage facility?
Yes. A storage facility is private land, which is exactly where a SORNed vehicle must be kept. The only rule is that the car must not be parked or driven on a public road while the SORN is in force. Many facilities will even help you make the declaration and arrange laid-up insurance.
What state of charge should an EV be stored at?
Around 50–60% is the widely accepted sweet spot for long-term storage. Storing a lithium-ion pack at or near 100% accelerates calendar ageing, while letting it run very low risks the pack draining to a damaging deep-discharge state over months. Set the charge limit before storage and have someone check and top up periodically.

Properly, it means a facility that actively manages the environment around your car — holding relative humidity in roughly the 50–60% band and keeping temperature stable, usually with industrial dehumidifiers in an insulated, sealed building, with conditions monitored and logged. In the UK trade it's often called dehumidified storage. Be aware the term is used loosely: some facilities describe merely heated or insulated spaces as climate controlled.
